Getting the water the last ten feet
Downspouts are the part of the system people notice most, and the part most often undersized. Too few and the gutter overflows in a hard rain. Badly placed and the water pools right where you walk. We plan the runs with both in mind.

Traditional aluminum downspouts
Our standard downspout is aluminum, colour-matched to the gutter, running to grade or into a rain barrel. We add elbows and extensions as needed to push discharge away from the foundation, and those pieces are already in your quote.
If your existing downspout dumps somewhere inconvenient, we can move it. It is a small job that solves a surprising number of wet-basement complaints.
Rain chains, for something different
A rain chain replaces a closed downspout with a heavy-gauge chain that guides water down into a rain barrel or splash basin. It looks good on a covered entry or a timber-frame porch, and you get to watch it work in a storm.
We can powder coat the chain to match your gutter colour. It is not the right answer for every elevation, since high-volume runs still want a conventional downspout, but on the right corner of the house it is a genuinely nice detail.

As a rough rule, one downspout per 30 to 40 feet of gutter run, with more on long or steep roof planes. We work it out from your actual roof area on the estimate visit.
No. Our estimates include all downspouts and elbows. If the quote says a number, that is the number.
Yes. Relocating an existing downspout to a spot you choose is straightforward and we do it often.
A drain guard is a removable strainer that sits in the downspout outlet and stops leaves and needles from washing into your underground drainage. Pull it out, tip it out, put it back. Much easier than flushing a plugged line.
Yes. Both traditional downspouts and rain chains can be set up to fill a barrel. Just plan an overflow route so a full barrel does not back water up against the house.
